I had the same reaction as you when I first saw it. The traffic to me is not as great as I though it would be. I'm flying on Long Island, New York. I'm just east of JFK and it is a busy area. I see a bunch of targets that I never actually see. I get warnings of traffic that I never see. I have also kind of tricked the system I guess, when I'm playing around with areobatics. The system sees me going north then south a few seconds later and it thinks I'm two different planes. It scared me the first time it happened, I'm getting a traffic warning coming out of a loop! I do like all the info though. I've convinced myself I need the second screen to be able to spread out on more area.

Is there anyone with this setup flying real close to the Canadian border ( Swanton,Burlington VT. ) who could tell me how far north you are able to see weather and traffic.

I fly mostly in the Montreal area and if able to see all that info using the antennas close to the border on the US side, I will buy it in a flash.

Thanks

Bruno

I just took my first trip to various airports in congested air space with a complete Skyview system including ADSB and have to thank the Dynon team for a job well done. The Garmin 696/GDL39 and Ipad with WingX Pro/SkyRadar are now just back up equipment. Dynon's performance was superior and having all information on 1 Screen is a big plus when things get busy. I am very happy with the Dynon solution! ;D

Question to BMW_X6M....

Since you are so satisfied with the system, have you ever got into the configuration and did "Compare" with both ADAHRS? the compass heading on mine 200 is 6 degree different than 201.

I have dual Skyview display and dual ADAHRS in my RV-7, I'm seriouly considering ADS-B after reading your post.

Thanks for the feedback.

Hello Support

To get Weather, is the TXPR also required or is the ADS-B module good enough??

I would assume that the TXPR is required for traffic...right ?

Thanks

Bruno

You'll get weather whether or not you have the transponder. It's only the traffic portrait that needs the ADS-B out signal in order to receive back from the ground stations. The ground stations are always all broadcasting weather.
