I am seriously considering purchasing both units for my new, near complete, project. One concern I have is how readable is the data, in particular on a bright sunlit day. There is a lot of data on a rather small display. I can mount both displays side by side at the top of my instrument panel right under the glare shield and directly in front of the pilot so I guess they are in the best viewing position. I would like to hear from any existing users there comments on this point.

I live in Tucson and have an RV-6A, and it is very bright most of the year. Actually, I have found that for my normal day VFR flying, the EMS is the one device in my instrument panel that I look at most often. I have about 100 hours on the EMS and have no problem reading it in direct sunlight. The only small nit I have is that on the EMS, when a reading goes into alarm mode, the digital readout for that specific funcion change from white to flasing red. In the bright direct sunlight, the flashing red on a black background is hard to read, but not impossible. For the alarm they also put a red bar across the face of the whole display with white letters that is very easy to read, but the actual digital numeric readout needs more contrast. Otherwise, I am very pleased with the display. I believe that they will be changing this on future software releases as I have brought this to their attention.

I am preparing to purchace a Dynon for my RV-4 project. I have similar concerns about the amount of information in a small screen. I am interested in a larger display. I have heard rumors that a larger display is currently in the works. Is this true? If true, when will it be available? I am interested in buying both units in a larger size.
