Red Cube

As I indicated on my recent post my fuel flow indication  to skyview is erratic.  On start it seems to indicate a reasonable f/f, however it's all over the chart after only a few minutes.  It doesn't seem to indicate high, just what I think is normal for the power setting all the way down to zero.  I haven't done a continuity check, but all of the wiring from the red cube to the ems box appears to be in good condition, no chaffing, or acute bends and they run through braided lume(sp).  Is the "Flow Scan 201" compatible with the Dynon ems?  I have one and if it is compatible I'd replace the Red Cube with it to confirm that the red cube is either good or bad.

have you checked that the cube is mechanically OK? No debris in it etc.?

I have not removed the cube from the fuel line as yet.  Is there a way to inspect other than through the inlet and outlet ports of the cube?  As I recall there is an access plate on one side of the unit, but not sure of the outcome if I remove it.  Will reassembly be possible without affecting the unit?  If you've had experience in this would appreciate your comments.

I have little experience with the red cube yet, but I don't think the access panel is for cleaning - no user serviceable parts inside, I think.

From what I've read, the tiniest bit of junk trapped in the rotor can give wired readings. you might also try opening closing connectors in case there is a trace of corrosion or something loose somewhere.

I would just reach out to EI support and get their feedback- support@Buy-ei.com

They are really good with getting back within a day and with details on how to troubleshoot.
