I loaded the new 11.0 software and the recent Regional High Resolution Terrain but I didn't watch on the map the difference between the last terrain database and the new...

Anyone can me tell what is the problem ?

Thank you for your help.

Thierry;
I think you are asking for what the difference is between the new huge file and the old terrain? If so I wondered the same thing.
If you are asking why it does not show the dates for the new terrain? They are there. The base map from 6/2013 is the same but if you look at the name of reg04 that should match the name you downloaded from 8/2014. Terrain does not show the new names.

I'm affraid for my bad english but I'm Swiss and a wrong beginner in English  ;)

Infact, my question is "where on the map can we see the difference between the low terrain database and the new Regional High Resolution Terrain (updated 8/11/2014)" ?

A part from that, i have also download the last Regional High Resolution Base Map (updated in June 2013) but the date in my Skyview is "05/08/13". I don't understand why the date is not correct on my Skyview...

I believe the low resolution terrain databases are used when you are zoom out on the map. The high resolution database has too much data for Skyview to display in a timely manner when zoomed out. It's only used when you zoom in and need to see more detail. You won't be able to detect which database is displayed.

The base map IS 6/2103 or at least released than. I would guess the release was 5-18, tested a few weeks and released in June 2013. What was updated was terrain for and that is high resolution terrain 8/2014 date.
For the US I see no difference in the terrain with the new version, almost seems there is little benefit to spend 2 hours on this.
Be good to know what the new terrain actually improved, other than Australia low lying areas.

We don't have a breakdown of all of the geographic areas that are better than they used to be, but the accuracy of water/land, especially in low-lying areas or areas that have flood plains are generally where you'll find them.

Neither the old nor the new terrain files report the date that they were created/published. But, if you loaded one of the high resolution terrain files, the first thing SkyView does (after verifying the file) is delete the old one to make room for the new one. So if you did the load, and it did not fail, you have the new terrain. We're considering republishing the terrain files so that they will report their dates like the other databases do.

The basemap has not been updated since mid last year.
