I read that it is recommended to put the remote compass far inside the back of the plane.

But what if the plane is made of carbon ?
I read somewhere that carbon may influence compass. Is that the case and then should I put my compass somewhere else ?

Thanks
Alain

Unless your carbon has steel woven into it (it doesn't), you'll be fine. RF transmission (things with antennas) can be a problem with composite aircraft that have aluminium or copper meshes, but not magnetometer sensing.
