I run a EFIS D10 (not -A) with the remote compass module. The units does not find that module. Whenever I try to read out data or try to load up an configuration, there comes a message :Remote compass not detected. One week ago after uploading the new firmware 01.13.00 it worked, so I calibrated the unit and it was OK, but today when checking the instrument, the remote was gone again (tried with a magnetic something in front of the instrument) Maybe I uploaded a version with the wings (and the remote) off some month ago, so might that have something to do with it? All wires are doublechecked and OK. I installed the Dynon 90° dongle against radio-interferences, could that be a reason? I tried to upload 01.13.00 again, but there was the same warning: Remote compass not detected...again. I read something about out-of-sync firmwares when updating without the compass connected, but my compass is connected, so I did it, but no success, compass not detected... Last week it worked, after powering down and up today the remote is gone, that sounds clearly as a wiring problem, I know, but all 4 wires are fine, 100% ;) Yes, I read all topics with this problem, but I don't know what else I could do.Any suggestions?

Dirk, this is a long shot - why don't you run a new 4 core wire temporarily through the plane from the EDC to D10 ans see if this works ? Seems like a wiring issue to me too ;)

It's likely either a dead compass or one that's not connected. To check the latter, make sure you're using the pinout for the EDC-D10, and not the EDC-D10A. They are different. Also make sure that you actually have an EDC-D10 compass and not the newer EDC-D10A. Though they look the same, they're not compatible.
