If mounting the remote magnetometer in a wing tip, what consideration should be given to the strobe and position lights and their wiring

A remote magnetometer, either the EDC-D10A for our older products, or the SV-MAG-236 for SkyView, won't work reliably in the vicinity of a strobe (the power supply, wiring to the strobe, and the strobe itself) because of the electrical pulse for the strobe.

Does anyone have any experiences mounting magnetometer in the aircraft tail, about 5 ft. from a electro hydraulic pump used in lancair's. It is intermittent operation used only in raising and lowering gear

If you already have the remote magnetometer in hand, suggest temporarily installing it (tie wrap, duct tape [preferably non-aluminum duct tape] and giving it a try. Just try to keep it away from the power line to the hydraulic pump.

Works in the Glasair

The ADAHRS in my Glasair is less than 3 feet from the hydraulic pump (same as used in the Lancair) and there are no problems at all.

They will not interfere and can be as close to one another as you wish.
