Remove panels during winter or long idle periods?

I have a dual panel HDX system, with the airplane stored in an unheated metal T-hanger hanger, concrete floors but South facing doors that aren't particularly tight, in Southern Michigan. Winter has a lot of high humidity, usually in the range of 20-40 (F), with bouts down to -10F or so or up to +50. Is it worthwhile to remove what I can during long idle periods, especially in Winter, besides for theft/vandalism?

Also, is it worthwhile to use damp-rid or such in the cabin during storage? I think damp-rid uses calcium chloride as a desiccant. It soaks up a lot of moisture and is sealed, but I'm worried whether molecular traces could promote corrosion.

Thanks

Unfortunately I do not have a recommendation for cold weather storage but I am curious about what you wrote. Is theft/vandalism common at your airport?
Not that I have heard of, but there is always a first time, especially if careless. I think with serial numbers tracked, smallish aircraft community, avionics installation generally professional and controlled, and felony offense for aircraft tampering, theft has not been a big profit center.

Regarding winter avionics removal, I would think the equipment would enjoy steady indoor temps and low humidity, but the question is whether the risks of damage in removal/transport, pin wear, etc. outweighs the benefit of longevity and other risk reduction. How many cycles can a D-sub pin take before wear is a big deal? 10, 100, 1000?
