I have found the Audio Alerts to be exeedingly usefull for a low time pilot such as myself. I was hoping Dynon would expand on these alerts, and make many more configurable in future software updates. Some that I would really like are listed below:

"AIRSPEED LOW" I would like to be able to set a low airspeed number so that I would get a warning if the airspeed was down to that configurable number. This could potentially prevent a stall and seems obvious it is needed.
"AIRSPEED HIGH" This could also be useful.
"500 FEET" This would come on when the absolute altitude was recognized as being this number above the ground. The software could have several different numbers here.
"CROSSWIND" I was thinking this could be enabled during slow flight so that you would take a look at the crosswind component if it was above a certain amount during final.

I am hoping that others will add to this list and a consensus could be derived for the most important ones. Thank you.

For what it is worth, I find that the XW function is accurate only after established flight at reasonable speed. Slow flight and manuvering tend to foul the calculation. Adding a audio alert may provide inconsistant information when in the pattern which is where I would think the idea would be most useful.

I can appreciate that the audio alerts are good wake up calls but considering that you can stall at any speed the AOA is a better device to have for that purpose. I have my GPS495 connected to the the audio in addition to the SV. It has an audio alert of "500 feet" on approach to any airport it has in it's database. I appreciate that information. I can keep my attention out front rather than on the panel. However the "TERRAIN AHEAD, PULL UP, PULL UP!" can drive you to distraction in mountainous terrain and I switch off the audio alerts when that happens too much. IMHO I think the audio design should caution to not giving false warnings when there is ambiguity. Of course with SV we have the option of turning on and off individual audio alerts to suit our mission. :)

I have the AOA connected, and this is very nice to have. I would still prefer to have the ability to also have a low airspeed warning as a safety measure while flying the approach. I agree though that the audio outputs can become annoying, and the ability to disable them individually is important.

Thanks for the tip. I will now connect my Aera 500 audio output to the aux input on the radio to get the 500 feet alert.

We do already have high airspeed alerts, FYI.

We'll put these suggestions on the wish list. Thanks for the input!
