Reset UTC time

Hallo.
I'm flying since April 2011, when I first set time on SV via GNS430 input.
Now, after 1,5 years, time is not anymore coordinated, since SV is 6 minutes ahead.
I tried to reset time on the setup menu, but I couldn't find how to do.
Thanks.

You cannot manually set the time in SkyView. It is supposed to set itself from GPS all the time. Given SkyView requires a GPS to work, we decided to go this way as it should lead to accurate time all the time.

The Garmin 430 doesn't output time over Serial, only ARINC. Do you have the ARINC module? Do you have another GPS on board? Do you have a backup battery on SkyView?

I'm trying to figure out why it would have set itself once, but is not staying updated. It will be --:--:-- when it doesn't know the time, and this will be true if you don't have the backup battery, or if you ever disconnect it. So it did get set via GPS at some time.

Thanks. Awaiting your answer I disconnected the backup battery in order to bring SV to "day zero" condition.

It worked in the sense that now it displays --:--:--

I started the 430 unit, waited its for connecting to GPS's and for the caution alert to disappeare, but nothing. It doesn't get time any more. Maybe it lost 6' for this reason.

On the setup menu, it says GPS signal is 2D only, but 430 is OK. Tomorrow I will investigate and give more details.

Edit: yes, I do have the ARINC moduleamd the backup battery.
I have to say that after first time acquisition 430 displayed a "Not receive on serial 2". Don't know if this is relevant.

Time does come over the ARINC module, so if that's working (can you see both the GPS and NAV side of the 430 on the HSI?), it should set the time.

Dynon,
I went flying and as usual GPS and NAV worked on Dynon. But no time has been taken.

I shot a few photos under setup mode.
First is 430W working under 3D:

Second is ARINC configuration:

This shows GPS details: only 2D?

And may you please check if serial configuration is OK?

430W is configured as per wiki and posts found here on the forum and has always worked fine

Arinc is configurated as per wiki instructions.
Serial is configurated...by sense.

Thanks.

If you have the ARINC module, nothing should be configured in serial port setup. In fact, you have two devices set up as GPS 1 (which is why they are red) which means you're confusing the system. It has no idea what port to use to listen to the GPS.

Also, notice on your ARINC page that it says "labels received: 0" That means we are not getting ANY data from the 430 over ARINC. I wonder if a wire is broken or the configuration in the 430 was changed?
