RF Noise from Classic Skyview

My mechanic spoke with tech support about this issue. After installing a new Dynon Com in our panel, there is a loud hum. If I pull the CB for Skyview, thus powering it on backup battery, the noise goes away. I believe it was Dave in Tech Support, after seeing the S/N of our units, thought we needed the kit for RF filters.

Installed the filters today, see photo, and the noise is intermittent. Mostly noisy and sometimes quiet. When transmitting and receiving, from a handheld, no noise and it sounds great.

We suspected the wire bundle may be part of the problem. So we undid the tie wraps to see if that made a difference. No change.

Any ideas.

Call Dave back. Problems like this can be notoriously difficult to troubleshoot. Trying to do it over the internet is even more problematic. Presumably Dave has a least some of the background on this issue already. I recommend you have your mechanic on the call as well. And if you haven't done so already, I suggest you get a copy of Bob Nuckolls' AeroElectric Connection.

I had to run a dedicated Ground wire between the chassis of my HDX to the chassis of Dynon Com radio and then have mic and squelch gains
adjusted in radio setup. All good now.

In the first pick, the black connector does not have the hold down tightened down. On my setup, when I finally screwed down the hold down screws, some extra noise was removed from the system. Thus, I now make sure they are all down.

Thanks for these suggestions. No help. I called Support Friday morning. They never called me back.

Did some more trouble shooting. With everything powered the noise remains except when I stand just outside the AirCam to the left of the display. My body seems to be absorbing/blocking the RF signal that is causing the noise. Perhaps my old Classic Skyview is the issue.

I'll try support again on Monday.
