According to the EMS file release notes, Skyview has support for indicating the correct throttle position for starting. Does anyone know where this function is documented?

Have you looked in the SV installation manual? Chapter 7 has all the EMS related information you'll need.

If not directly addressed, it can be added similar to a flap or trim position function.

Nothing found.

Look a little harder...

Page 7-33 lists the flap position potentiometer on pin 12. Pin 12 is an general purpose input, per page 7-16 (type A). Per page 7-15, any available type A, B or C can be used for your throttle pot.

When the 912 iS is selected as the engine type, there are two additional widgets that you can place on the layout.

So basically, go to EMS SETUP> ENGINE INFORMATION> and verify that ENGINE TYPE is set to "ROTAX 912iS".

Next, go to EMS SETUP> SCREEN LAYOUT EDITOR> and select one of the layout pages. Press the SENSOR button and scroll down to "THRTL PERCENT (CAN)" and press ACCEPT. Select a style and size for your Throttle Position widget and place it somewhere on your EMS display page. Press SAVE. Note: You'll need to edit each of the EMS pages (20% page, 50% page, etc) individually to add the Throttle Position widget. There is also a widget for Power/Eco mode.

The "Start Assist" feature is incorporated into the colored range markings on the Throttle Position widget. The color markings dynamically change to match the starting conditions specified by Rotax for the current environment (I believe OAT, more or less).

On mine the throttle position widget is only active after the engine is started. Moving the throttle before it is started makes no difference to the widget or it's display. Furthermore the rotax recommended position is just plain wrong. It really only needs to be 'just' open.

Hmm, it should work as long as the ECUs are powered (we think). What does the gauge actually look like in that state?
