ROTAX 914 with EMS-D10

Hello, I just sourced a second hand EMS-D10 to replace my analog gauges for the ROTAX 914 in my plane. I have the following questions:
1. Reading the EMS-D10 installation manual, I understand that I need to select OTHER and not ROTAX as Engine Type. Reading further, I see that the added value of selecting ROTAX is to have oil ranges depending on the RPM. Basically these values/recommendations are the same for the 912/912S/914. So I don't see the point in selecting OTHER for a ROTAX 914. Maybe I am missing something?
2. Is the MAP sensor to be used the default Dynon MAP sensor?
3. Today, the fuel pressure is measured by an UMA N1EU07D differential sender. I understand that this one is not directly supported by the EMS-D10 but is there a way to interface it. Now that you have experience with this sender on Skyview, potentially you could suggest something.

Thanks, Jacques.

1) If the values are the same (we haven't confirmed that - as the mode was done with the 912 in mind), then there's no reason that you couldn't use the 912 mode for the same reason.
2) Yes.
3) Unfortunately, the D10/D100 series hardware can't support that sensor, and there's no way to kludge it together either, unfortunately. For that one, you'll probably need to use a separate standalone UMA gauge, unfortunately.

Thanks for the fast and crisp answers. I saw that the SW version 5.4.3 EMS-D10 fuel pressure setup proposes 7 different sensor options... but the manual is documenting the first 3 only. Also, I saw that UMA is now proposing a N2EU07D with a 0 to 5V range for 0-7PSI instead of the 0.2 to 4.7V for 0-7PSI of the N1EU07D. Any joy to get rid of this analog gauge?

Otherwise maybe a 5.4.4 :) Well, I could understand it wouldn't be a sound business decision to spend engineering resources on that...

Thanks, Jacques

Unfotunately, the way the sensor works, even if the voltages were slightly different on the output end, its fundamentally a nonstarter on the D10/D100 series EMS hardware.

Some of the other sensor types are documented in the Kavlico addendum on our website. That may not cover them all, but none of them are the differential sensor you're after, unfortunately.

Hi ,
Dynon Ems D-10 doesnt support UMA N1EU07D in this time ?
Its not good for installation with Rotax 914.
You write in installation manual about setting for R 914 (engine type = other) but I need differential sensor (N1EU07D) for correct indication fuel pressure.
Rotax require this sensor in their manual.

Thanks

Jarek:

As we also explained in your email to Dynon Avionics Technical Support, unfortunately, the EMS-D10 simply does not support the N1EU07D differential fuel pressure sensor; that sensor has never been supported in the EMS-D10, and it is unlikely that the EMS-D10 firmware will be updated to support any additional sensors.
