RPM Accuracy

Hi

Our SportCruiser homebuilt has a D120, it works just great!

We also have a 2 1/4 inch Rotax-specific UMA analog tacho.

They are both wired in parallel off the 5th coil, and work okay.

But there is about 200RPM difference between the RPM readings on the D120 and the analog tacho (the UMA is lower)

Which one is most likely to be correct, is there any calibration or offset available in the Dynon set-up?

(I will ask the UMA people the same question, but I am not expecting such a good response....)

Thanks

Simon C

There is no adjustment in the D120. Given that we're a fully digital system, and there's really no way we can be off, I'll blame the UMA ;)

The only way our tach can be out is if the clock on the D120 also runs slow.

Yeah, thought you might say that - I had come to the same conclusion.

We might just take the UMA Tacho out, we rarely look at it anyway.

Thanks for the rapid reply.
