RPM from a UL power engine

Hi guys

I am trying to get RPM to display from a UL-power engine.

The ul power manual states the ecu puts out a 12v square wave signal for rpm. I have connected this to the skyview left rpm input, however I am seeing erratic to no rpm displayed.

Has anyone solved this problem?

Cheers
Eddie

Are you hooked to the low voltage input on the EMS or the high voltage one?

Hello Mr Dynon,

Do you have any other hints or suggestions?

I am helping out a friend with this and am scratching my head at the moment.

Cheers
Eddie

Try pin 34. That's the lower voltage RPM input. Although the UL output claims to be a 0-12V signal, if it's not quite hitting 10-12V, the regular RPM input won't reliably detect pulses. Pins 34 and 35 are provided for just this purpose - they can detect voltage pulses that peak much lower.

We have a UL 350iS with Skyview, RPM is connected to pin 32 and works fine.
