RS-232 to SKyview from GNS-530

When I first installed the SKyview/GNS-530 combination There was a RS-232 wire from the 530 to the Skyview. Subsequently I added the ARINC-429 interface between the two. Question: Is the RS-232 line still needed?

It isn't to SkyView directly, but, it should be connected to the to the ARINC module per the instructions to round out the ARINC GPS information that SkyView receives (it needs information to supplement the ARINC data, which doesn't contain info like GPS altitude). When you make that switch, make sure to disable the SkyView direct serial port that you previously had the 530 connected to.
