I'm having a bit of an issue installing a 796 into a Skyview equipped RV-12. Adding an additional GPS would be pretty straight forward IF there wasn't a control module incorporated into the -12.

It seems that all of the serial inputs have been used by Vans. I have contacted Vans and was advised by them to contact Dynon or read the Skyview installation instructions. Actually, the person that responded wasn't sure an additional GPS could be added to a Skyview (yes, I know it's possible, HE wasn't sure).

So my question is, anyone out there added an additional GPS to a -12?

Thanks for the help!

So first off, what are all of your serial ports being used for?

Hi support

Yes all serial ports used to connect in the red av-5000 box from vans, but they have adsb connector used serial port 2 and short cut to nutual suppression and gps data to transponder.

Actually, what I meant was, what are EACH of the serial ports configured to currently?

I'm not sure I'm following your mutual suppression comment.

And, what device's GPS data is going to what what brand transponder?

From the schematic it looks like the SV Serial port 1 RX is open so you could use that for the extra GPS. Nothing from SV is sent to the GPS so you don't need the SV port 1 TX line to be connected to the GPS.
