Firewall penetration is best done using the stock RV-14 SS firewall penetrator parts: https://store.vansaircraft.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=FF-00001&product_list_mode=grid
Put a piece of firesleeve on the inside to pass the wires through. Put a piece of larger firesleeve over that, and this SS penetrator on the firewall side (as done by the previous poster).

The hard part on mounting the remote boxes (like the EMS) is making sure you take into account the D connectors - leave enough room to get them in and out.

In the attached photo you can see the EMS, ARINC, XPDR and Dynon Comm.

I upgraded my RV-8 this year to a dual Dynon HDX Skyview system and used The Dynon Fast Track universal mounting trays. With the exception of the ADAHRS, I was able to mount all the Skyview components behind each screen. The ADAHRS was mounted in the rear of the fuselage.

Not all RVs can use the universal mounting trays, but they work exceptionally well on the RV-8s.

In the picture below you can see the all the components. I moved the backup battery to the inside of the tray prior to mounting.

I also used a firewall penetration kit similar to the one referenced by Carl.
