I have a S-TEC System Fifty autopilot installed in my Lancair. The unit label says "This RFGC has been modified for use with King KCS 55A". Can I use this autopilot with my EFIS D10A?
Are modifications necessary?

Yep as long as it is a stand alone autopilot....The Dynon does not control any autopilot but its own so you can use whatever autopilot you would like with it.

Just don't expect the Dynon to control it or anything....

No! No! My question is, "How can I get the EFIS to drive the autopilot?"

That is correct - the Dynon will only drive it's own servos.  Right or wrong, that is Dynon's current solution.

If your S-Tec is already connected to an IFR capable GPS and working, adding the EFIS will give you a nice HSI (and at a good value).  Your choices are a) keep your existing radio/GPS + STec; b) sell the STec and install Dynon Servos; c) buy a different GPS to drive the STec; d) get a different EFIS that will drive the STec.
