Flying along the other day, for some reason, I tried to "pinch to zoom" my screen. Now I know Skyview doesn't zoom like this, but I guess I'm just spending too much time on my iPad! Anyway, the result of this was the screen entirely freezing up. Nothing would work. Rebooting the system brought it back to normal, and fortunately I was day VFR. Anyone ever experience this?

I pinched my wife once and she froze up kinda like that, except she made a lot of noise too. Does that count?

If you have SkyView HDX or SkyView Touch, pinch to zoom is supported. SkyView Classic doesn't have a touch screen, so that wouldn't work, but touching the screen shouldn't cause any errant behavior either.

I have a Skyview touch. My screen has a horizontal area on the screen that is dead. if I touch and move past that area the screen will freeze. There is an menu item that allows you to see where your touching, it shows like a finger print when you touch the screen. I turned on that option and it shows me a spot where the touch hangs in the dead area. I can retouch the screen on the spot and move it away from the dead area and the screen will un-freeze. I hope that helps. The other option is send it in $$.

Seagull - this sounds like an issue we'd likely need to see to address. Contact our support team for further help (contact info in signature).

I checked into having Dynon repair it.
At a cost of $450 My "work around" is a little annoying but spending $450, annoyed me more.

Mine was installed in 2015, the warranty is 3 years. The problem was first noticed in 2019, still out of warranty period. Since this is the only problem, I figured I would wait until something serious happens to it, the $450 is a flat rate for whatever it needs.
