I will be retrofitting my RV-7A with a Skyview System in the near future. I've been reading through the Pilot's Guide and the Installation Guide and there doesn't seem to be any way to save off your favorite screen layouts. It appears as if each time you want to go to a different layout you have to select the screens you want to see (PFD, Map and / or EMS, up to 3 button clicks) then cycle through the layout options using the layout key (even more button presses.)

I know in my case I'll no doubt standardize on 2, maybe 3 layouts that I use all the time. Is there any way to save away your preferred layouts so they can be recalled quickly?

On my current Chelton setup I have 2 primary layouts that I can toggle between very quickly either from a knob on the Efis or a momentary contact switch on the control stick.

If this isn't currently doable I'd like to suggest this for consideration for a future enhancement. Just like a car radio, if you like a particular station when you're on the station you just press and hold one of the station selection buttons for a few seconds and that station is stored as a favorite. Seems to me like you could have 3 buttons called Layout 1, Layout 2 and Layout 3 and when you get the screen arranged like you want just press and hold one of the buttons.

Taking it a step further if we could have an input that would allow us to quickly toggle through these layouts from the stick that would be even better!

Thanks!

I second that. Especially the button on the stick to flip flop between a couple of layouts.  :)

suggested before: http://dynonavionics.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1397348791#40
I had read that entire thread before but missed your suggestion on saving the configurations. It was "lost" (for me anyway) in the other discussions about creating and entirely different EMS screen, or adding a lot more flexibility in the setup of the various screens which would be a lot of work for Dynon.

Saving off 2 or 3 standard configurations should be relatively easy, especially as you pointed out, it's already being done for the swap screens, and remembering the last layout when you boot up. It's just an extension basically of that same logic.

Hopefully this will be seriously considered as a "relatively low effort for a lot of return" vs the other way around when a lot of programming has to be done. I know for me it's something that I currently use MANY times on each flight with my existing Chelton system and it's going to be sorely missed!
