Yes, this is as I suspected. I posted this on the slight chance that there was a menu setting or a setup configuration option, that I was unaware of, that might implement this functionality. In my Berkut, there is no room for a second screen, so I can't use the technique Air Guy suggests. I have to have one half of the screen dedicated as a PFD, so on the other half I have to choose between the plate by itself, or a moving map with just the flight plan. I end up displaying the PFD and Plate on my HDX screen, and the plate overlaid on a moving map on my stand-alone Android device, in iFlyEFB (as shown above).
It would be a welcome addition to the Skyview system, as it is a glaring omission to display the plate, (even though it is georeferenced), without all the other functionality available on the moving map. As you suggested, If implemented, a toggle, or config setting, to control clutter that would interfere with critical approach plate data would be important.
Perhaps the Dynon folks who participate in the monthly Future Skyview Features board meetings will read this and include this in their agenda for an upcoming meeting!
