My HDX 16.0.4 sees the 320 B/U battery, but in the menu line LOCAL DISPLAY SETUP, the text BATTERY CONNECT YES is greyed out. Is this normal?

Yes. The Skyview system should automatically set this to YES when a battery is installed. It's not user configurable.

I already stated the label showed YES. You are saying that it is normal to be greyed out? Thanks for the confirmation. Just seem odd to me, as I'm used to seeing a positive label in bold, bright font.

Just going by the documentation. I assumed it's simply greyed out because it isn't user configurable.

And it seems to be comfirmed. On page 22-12 of the installation manual, the paragraph on VIDEO INPUT SETUP mentions menu items that are grayed out because they're inaccessible. Presumably that's also the case here.

That's my understanding as well, Rhino.

Yes, having the Backup Battery Installed will grey out that line.

Check with a voltmeter that there is indeed a voltage of at least 12 V on the 2 pins of the battery connector. The internal electronics of the battery may be faulty.
