I have a Garmin 295 I am trying to connect on Serial 1. There is no setting for the 295. I have tried every setting, but all I get are errors counting up. I have tried std. settings with different baud rates. Does anyone know what to set the settings at for the 295? I have checked the wires a couple of times. Data out of the GPS to Serial 1 in and Data in to serial out 1. Before I think about getting my GPS repaired or checked out I am wondering if I am just missing something in the setups.

Thanks.
Roger.

Page 92 of the 295 manual shows the wiring and page 88 showns the interface settings page. You need to set NMEA out 9600 baud. Don't forget to set SV port one serial in to the proper device and baud rate.

Re: Serial 1  GPS Settings for a Garmin 295

Thanks, guys. I have already done all of this. There must be something wrong with the old 295. Might be a good excuse to upgrade to a newer one. Heck, maybe I will just wait for the Dynon SW to come out and see if it does everything I need. Then just keep the 295 as a backup. Thanks again.

Roger. :)
