SkyView has 5 general-purpose (RS-232) "serial ports" that can be connected to specific devices for which SkyView has specific support for. Some examples:
SkyView SV-GPS-250
Garmin SL30 NAVCOM / SL40 COM
etc.
While the PAR100EX might have an RS-232 serial port, and thus it's POSSIBLE for it to communicate with SkyView (electrically...), there is no software support within SkyView to "talk the same language" as the PAR100EX.
Dynon has added support for non-Dynon devices as customer demand guides them, but supporting a new device on a serial port is a non-trivial amount of engineering work. If you'd like to try persuading them, it would be a big help, as a start, to email them directly explaining why you would like them to add support (how does it change the way you use the PAR100EX / SkyView / situational awareness / pilot workload), how many people YOU know of that have the same combination of SkyView and PAR100EX, and that you would be willing to work with them to test any "beta" (test) versions of software that supports the PAR100EX.
I'm adding a PAR100EX to my Skyview panel that doesn't have any Dynon radios. I see that the PAR communicates with the M760 via serial. Has anyone tried communicating to the m760 from the Skyview serial? Is that the same kind of serial?
