I am trying to bug out the wires on a used plane I bought with a D-180. I have the two DB9 connectors and the one for the EMS looks ok and has bundled orange, yellow and black wires. The one from the 25 pin EFIS bundle has red, white and blue wires. This conflicts with the installation instructions. It appears from all the other wire colors this is an authenic Dynon harness. I did see a note about some wire color changes on some harnesses. What have I got? :-?

I'd use a multimeter to 'bus' out those wires just to be sure, colours don't matter as it's where they end up that counts & they may have been changed.

Jake's got the right answer. Don't trust the wire colors, especially if they don't match the documentation. It's possible the harness was customized/rewired/etc.

I has problem to connect my EMS D10 with my laptop. I bought a cable harness USB to RS132 and plug both. The upgrade message on Dynon D10 was: the connection failed, do not turn off, call Dynon tel.....
On laptop the messages was trying to connect to COM5...COM6...COM7...COM8...COM9, connection failed.
Previously I has installed the cable drivers and the final message was 100% OK.
What I must do? :-/

Did your EFIS screen turn yellow at all, or did it not do anything? Also, instead of using the upgrade option first, use the detect firmware version. Also, what version of windows do you have, and what USB-serial converter?

Yes, my EFIS screen turn yellow at all.
I am using detect firmware version first.
My Windows version is 7.
My USB-serial converter have the following features:
USB Specification Rev 1.1 compliant
Over 1 Mbps data transfer rate
A version for Windows98/ME/2000/XP/LinuxO.S/Vista (32bit)

Also:
1- I measure 6.4VDC between orange cable and black cable, and 0VDC between yellow cable and black cable with EFIS on.

Where did you purchase the USB-Serial converter from? What brand is it? What color is the cable? (can you take a picture)

That's doesn't look like the one we currently stock, but I know the packaging has changed over time. Is it one of ours?

What version of windows are you using?

What drivers are you using?

No. This cable I bought here in Brazil.
I am using Windows 7 on my laptop.
The driver is PL2303_Vista_32_64_332102.

So it's hard to say what that product is and what drivers are compatible with it. We know that the one we sell works, and probably most "name brand" ones would too. Where did you obtain the drivers that you're using? Are they the ones from the disk? If so, try the ones on http://www.dynonavionics.com/docs/support_software.html. You do need to figure out whether or not your computer is running 32bit or 64bit windows first by clicking start, right click computer, then properties, then look under "system type".

I am trying to communicate my Dynon EMS D10 with a computer by serial port. Now I change the computer.
It have a serial output, and Windows 7.
Please, take a look on attached photos, and answer me what is wrong?

Although the computer looks to have an actual serial port, the support program is not seeing the EMS on it. That can be because either the wiring between the EMS and its serial port is incorrect, or because, for some reason, the serial port on the computer isn't active. This isn't uncommon. You might try a USB-Serial converter to "create" a new serial port on the computer. I'd also double-check the wiring between the EMS D37 harness and the D9 connector on your panel.
