my SV system:

- 2x 10" displays
- 2x ADAHRS modules
- EMS
- SV-XPNDR-262 (serial port # 3)
- 2x SV-GPS-250 (serial port #4 and #5)
- ACK E04 ELT with GPS (serial port #2 only TX)
- VPX (serial port #1)

Running out of serial ports. What is about serial connection from SV-ADSB-470??

Regards Knut

To gain back a serial port, you could connecting each GPS to only one display. This means that you give up a bit of redundancy - if you lose one GPS, one of your displays (but not both) will not have GPS position, but this is a relatively minor failure.

....or you could use a 3PDT switch so that both sceens would only see 1 x Gps at a time & simply set the switch to the other Gps if one fails - this still would then use only 1 x serial port as DS says ;)

Thanks for the hints. I've found a third solution. The GPS data for the ACK E04 ELT can be supplied with a small external GPS Receiver like the Garmin GPS18 (80$).
