I'm wiring up the servo's in our RV-10 and I've asked this question before when I was ordering the wire. I searched for the responce but cannot find the information. I do believe that for the next generation autopilot that one of the servo's require an additional wire above the seven that are the standard. I could be mistaken.
With todays autopilot there is a need for five wires and two places where the wires are for future requirements. I think that the pitch servo will require eight in total. Could someone straighten me out?
Thanks Ron

My understanding is that the five wires remain the same and the extra two wires are for an additional DSAB bus.

You should run 7 wires to each servo if you are planning on a next-gen install. No servo needs more than that.

You can get away with 6 wires if you have a way to ground the servo locally to the airframe or something else.

... but considering how often Ground problems appear in most experimental forums, is it really worth saving one extra light-weight wire?

;)
