After entering D-10A V 2.09.01 Software, I began entering Airspeeds. After entering V-stall, got a message something like 'this Software version no longer requires setting airspeed bar color thresholds'. Am confused. Any ideas?

Hi Dave,

With the latest software, it seems the only thing you use the computer for is to load new software, and configure checklists. The airspeed colors are now entered directly on the unit, via the menu. Below is from the current installation guide.

Cheers,
Rusty

To configure the airspeed bar color thresholds for your unit, enter the menu system on the EFISD10A
and press MORE, SETUP, MORE, IASCLR. This will display the Airpseed Color
Threshold menu. Here, you may enter the values for five airspeed constants (Vso, Vs1, Vfe,
Vno, and Vne), each of which has its own button. You may enter these values in units of knots,
mph, or km/h depending on what airspeed units you are currently using (shown below the
airspeed digital display in the upper left). Enter each of the 5 menus and perform the following:
1. Push SEL to select the digit you wish to increment or decrement.
2. Push DEC or INC to decrement or increment the selected digit.
3. Push BACK to return to the previous menu.
When you have completed all 5 settings, you have completed the airspeed color thresholds
configuration. You will not be able to see most of the colors until the aircraft has achieved
airspeeds in the range of each threshold.

Thanks for the reply Rusty.

We have moved as much data entry as we can into the D10A so that a laptop is hopefully never needed. This includes airpspeed color bar settings, internal and external compass calibrations.

Sorry if this confused you. We're trying to make it easier, not harder!

I have downloaded the latest software and followed the procedure in the manual, but no colour bars appear. How can I get them to work?

Hi Richard,

You need to turn on the display under the "CLUTTR" (clutter) menu. To do this go to the main menu, select "MORE", select "SETUP", select "CLITTR" and then toggle on the "IASBAR". This same menu toggles on the Altitued bar.

Best Regards,
Mel Jordan
