I currently have 15.2.0 and I am considering upgrading to the latest 15.3.4.

I assume that I can simply download the latest software and then upload that without having to upgrade to each intermediate step?

Tied in with my question of reinstalling a screen that had been repaired and wiped to default, I assume that the best practice would be to install the repaired screen and get them both working before I update the software?

Any other tips and tricks would be appreciated!!!

THANKS!!!

No intermediate steps required, go direct to the latest version. This is true unless someone hasn't updated in about 5 years, maybe software version 7 or so. That might require some Dynon help.
Install your repair. If everything is the same software version, everything will work. Otherwise, update the software and you might have to reconfigure the system to see the repaired screen. Easy once you have done it the first time.

The system will detect the software mismatch, which will cause some things to not work until you have them both at the same revision.

Thanks Ray and DLLoyde,

My repaired screen is on its way. IAs I posted on another thread, the software was all wiped off so I assume it is loaded with the newest revision.

So while I am waiting for the repaired screen to arrive, should I upgrade my existing screen to the newest software revision and that way when I plug in the repaired unit both will be up to date? Or should I just wait and do them both at the same time?

If the new screen will come with the latest rev, I would update your current screen prior to connecting the repaired one.

There was an instruction sheet that came with the repaired device. It said to...BEFORE installing the repaired screen...to check the software update status on the non-repaired screen and to ensure that it was the same revision as the screen that was repaired. If not then FIRST update the non-repaired screen. Then it said to export my settings from the non-repaired screen to a USB and verify that my actual tail number was shown on my non-repaired screen and then to install the repaired screen and then set its tail number from DYNON to my actual tail number.

Anyway I did as indicated and the repaired screen is up and running and my settings are the same.
