Help !
Have just updated to version 3.1.1 and immediately have problems.
System is Skyview with two screens, Dynon GPS and Dynon Transponder
Neither screen will detect the GPS or Transponder when configuring the network. Now hear's the strange bit:-
Screen 1 says the transponder is on serial port 1 and the GPS on serial port 5 (even though not detected in the config menu)
Screen 2 says the GPS is on serial port 5 but a Garmin SL 30 is on serial port 2 (I don't have a Garmin SL 30 !!!)
The system worked perfectly well before the upgrade
Anyone had similar problems? I did read on the Dynon website that there were some update problems with serial port 1 and 2 which will be fixed with the next update
Any help appreciated

Hi Geoff, the skyview will not find the devices unless you configure each one to a serial port, on both screens, these settings must be the same on each screen. Sounds like your just got changed, re-input your settings and all should be good.
Then re-run the network config on the main screen. It should find all devices. ( dont forget to turn on auto pilot servos if you have them ) If any are yellow, then they have not taken the software update. If this happens, I think you get an option to update now, on the same screen ?

Best of luck.

Thanks for that
You are right on one issue. Despite checking the port configuration over and over again, I still had serial port 2 connected to a Garmin SL 30 on display no. 2 (really don't know how that happened).
The configurations on both displays are now correct (Transponder on serial 2 and GPS on serial 5 on both displays).
But there are still issues.
Display 2 now shows the trasnponder in the top bar,
Display 1 shows a red cross in the top bar but a pransponder menu down the bottom!
Neither display will pick up the transponder nor the GPS when configuring the network.
I disconnected the backup battery as suggested on the Dynon web site but this made no difference.
Any more ideas?
Thanks
Geoff

Things connected via serial don't show up in the network configuration. The network config is only for modules on the SkyNet bus- the ADAHRS, EMS module, ARINC, and servos.

If the transponder is showing on a screen at the top, it's working. If it is showing a red x, that screen is having a problem istening to it. The transponder menu shows up any time a transponder is configured in serial set up on that screen.

Thanks for info.
I think I have the update problem described on your website
When both displays are powered up together, both screens show the red cross in the top bar transponder area.
When display 2 is powered up alone the transponder appears in the top bar BUT if display 1 is then powered up the transponder "disappears" and is replaced by the red cross. If screen 1 is powered off the transponder re-appears (?magic)
If screen 1 is powered up alone the red cross appears.
All looks like a problem with display 1?

It sounds like display 1 isn't able to see the transponder. You might try moving it to another serial port (see http://dynonavionics.com/docs/news_311SerialPorts.html), though disconnecting the backup battery should have solved this. Also, this could be a connectivity issue, so do check that too. Finally, make sure that BOTH displays' appropriate serial ports are configure to be connected to the transponder.
