Hi Guys,
So today, finally took my first flight behind my 10 inch Skyview. Loved the HSI and flight instruments and the engine page is great but I hated the mapping.
Sorry guys there isn't enough on it, certainly not worth investing $500 dollars for it. No runways evident, and absolutely no detail to fly VFR with. Fortunately my Garmin 695 drives the HSI very well and it works just as it should and this is where I cannot understand the information from Jeppesen. The 695 uses it and shows Rivers, Trains, Roads and just about everything you need for VFR navigation.
The problem is that the basemap is sadly lacking. Without the Jeppesen, you could be in any country on any continent, it's only when you put the Jeppesen overlay on it that it makes a grain of sense. You must have geographical features to produce a map. certainly for VRF Navigation. Please Dynon, don't let the mapping spoil an absolutely brilliant product.
regards
