Support gods - I just updated to 4.0 last night.  Everything 'seems' in order except one thing - when I look at Network Config page listing all my connected devices, SV is displaying "connection fault 4/8" on both of my AP servos.  The servos seem to function correctly on the ground in 'test mode'.  This is something new with 4.0 as this message was not displayed on the previous version.  Any clue?

Just installed 4.0 and my map display is exactly as before. No towns, rivers, roads etc. I am in Ireland. I have got European Hi Res basemap previously installed. Do I need to re-install it? My Av Data is from Pocket FMS.

Did you download the Western Europe package file, or just the 4.0 update file? If you used the 4.0 update, you need to also download the basemap for your area. The basemap comes from Dynon and was updated with this release to add roads, rivers, etc. The download location is here:

Thanks Dynon - that explains it. I just downloaded the 4.0 package, not the Western Europe package. I will now load the European basemap.

Just to clarify my last, I had installed only the 4.0 update FILE not the European PACKAGE. I now see that I need the new W Europe basemap to get the full picture. Thanks.

Hi
Good news....
I fly over europe and use Jeppesen data for the time being.
May I update to V 4.0 unless full fonctionality anyway?
I plan to move to Pocket FMS DATA, once again, may I update my Skyview before getting new data?
Are FMS data better in Line with new fonctionnalities?
Bernard

If you update to 4.0, your Jeppesen data will keep working. It just won't have some of the new airspace features until the next cycle, which will have databases that are made for 4.0.

PocketFMS will publish data for 3.3 and 4.0 for the next few months before moving to 4.0 exclusively.

In short, you should update to 4.0 now. There's no downside, essentially.

No A/P servos in this installation.

This means that their is a physical connection in either the 4 or 8 on the D9 going to the EMS module. It's one of the two redundant data buses, and SkyView is telling you there's a fault in that wiring. Formerly, these secondary pair of wires (pins 4/8) were dormant and unused. Now, in 4.0, they are used as a backup data bus should the main pair on pins 1/6 should fail. Basically, you need to investigate your wiring. Start at the EMS connector and work backwards.

We decided to go with orange for restricted/prohibited, and yellow for warning/caution. This sticks out a lot more on a map than just another blue line which can look a lot like a class B or D airspace.

Also, take a look in the update Pilot's User Guide on our site for example of all of the airspace colors.

Excellent job updating the manual for "Airspace" the pictures with the description is a huge improvement to the 3.3 user guide.

Nice Job!!

Hello Support

''some small autopilot bug fixes in the 4.0 software, but no major feature additions. Those are coming for sure but we do not have a specific date. ''
------------------------------

Any idea when in the futur that we can expect to have something that will approach a G3X or ADVs,  ??

An autopilot that can at least track a G/S is a most...a little more than a road or railroad track in my view

Thanks

Bruno :'(

If you go into setup mode (two right buttons) and then follow the menus to ADHARS config, you get a choice for compare. When you compare, you get a screen with both ADHARS on the screen, once is marked "active" and the other "alternate or standby" (I forget). You can see what each are saying. So you can compare Heading, altitude, AS, etc.

If the "heading" information are far off from each other I recommend doing the compass alignment again.

When trying to upgrade to 4.0, I get an error stating the file has an error. First tried the US 4.0 upgrade pckg, but the .dup was not valid. Dynon support advised to install each file seperate but still getting the error on the main 4.0 upgrade file.

Two things to try:

1) A different USB stick

2) If you are plugging the USB stick in the USB extension wire that comes out from SkyView, try it in one of the USB ports that is directly on the back of the SkyView screen

I wired my EMS and ADAHARS using five wires for the EMS and four for the ADAHARS as the second set of wires (currently) served no function. Version 4 now makes use of the second bus for redundancy. Will the lack of a second bus connection drive a constant hard fault warning? If so, can I disable this test/check to eliminate the error message?

You will get a persistent CAUTION notification that alerts you that you have no standby network capability. There isn't a way to disable the error message without running the wires, currently.

Yes, warned....
It was a much easier to pull the pins from the B side of the display side of the ADHARS/EMS harness and populate a second DB9 connector then to pull and remake the whole cable.  You guys are very good about putting a bunch of switches in your config scripts so I was hoping there would be one to disable redundant network testing (and nagging).  That would have saved me redoing the cabling.

No worries...  I'll wait on updating until I have to for ADS-B at which point I will be so happy with TFRs, traffic and weather that it will not matter.  I'll be in adding the ADS-B receiver at that time anyway so I will not even notice a bit more wiring.

Thanks much for all the hard work and constantly moving your products forward.
