I saw the announcement of Skyview 4.0
Most visible in Version 4.0 are improvements to the SkyView navigation mapping, with free base map data available worldwide. These include towns, cities, roads, rivers, and rail roads. Airspace depiction is also greatly improved, with graphics that match the style and color of sectional type charts. European airspace details have been added to reflect all airspace categories. With the addition of all this new data, SkyView now de-clutters objects and names to create a highly readable and detailed navigation map. A SV-MAP-270 navigation mapping license is required to utilize the new base map data.

This looks like a great release with numerous improvements. Any chance of seeing some pictures of the screen? Maybe have some posted on the webpage?
Thank you!

Congratulations Dynon. Great work.  :)

I can see that this update deserves the major number increment. Can't wait to try out the new features.

I see it's announced, but the website for downloads doesn't seem to have it yet?

Downloading the latest version from Dynon updates your system to include all previous updates. Just download the latest version and install it. Please remember to back up your settings before you do. They should not be disturbed but it takes only a moment to save all your previous work in calibration.

Here's the word from the press release:

Dynon Avionics is introducing Version 4.0 firmware for the SkyView Integrated Glass Panel system. Version 4.0 is a free upgrade for all existing SkyView owners and will ship standard in all new systems. The new product features in 4.0 will be on display at Oshkosh AirVenture, Building D, Booths 4053-54-55, and will be shipping August 1st, 2012
.

So it sounds like new hardware will be shipped today with 4.0. Would think we'd be seeing it pretty soon for online updating.

How do you save the current settings before updating to 4.0?

With the USB thumb drive inserted the SYSTEM SOFTWARE option of the SETUP MENU is available. In that screen select EXPORT SETTINGS. Page 3-14 of the installation manual.

Sorry to disappoint you guys, but we're still doing some bug squashing and testing to get to the level of quality that we demand of our releases. There's no firm date, but it will be delayed at least a couple of weeks.

...still doing some bug squashing...
In our office, we tried leaving the carcasses of the previous version's bugs dangling over the computer monitor...turns out it just attracts more.

We're getting very close. Very likely next week, though our final testing efforts continue up until right before we release, so it's always hard to guarantee exact release timing.
