We tried to upload Skyview 5.0 and now both screens are in a restart loop.  I don't know what to try next.

Hi Brian,
This happened to me too. There is a fix for it if you call tech support.
To get out of the reset loop, unplug your ems cable from the skyview box. You will have to go into the EMS settings file and change a setting. If you send me your email address I can send you the instructions I have or call tech support and they will walk you through it.

Support;
If I make the EMS setting change before the upgrade would this avoid there being an issue? I am all for every precaution to avoid trying to disconnect cables from behind my panel (should I see the same issue).

Possible patch perhaps? I can wait if so.

Thank you!

This happens if you've previously removed the flaps function from your pin mapping, but didn't remove it from one or more of your page layouts before doing so. Previously, the flaps widget would be automatically muted (which was technically incorrect, but that's another small issue tied into this), but in 5.0, this will incorrectly cause SkyView to restart.

So, this issue will only apply to you if:

When an EMS page is configured to display a graphical flaps widget -- and the pin configuration for flaps is removed at some point BEFORE removing the corresponding flaps widget from ANY of the 20%, 50%, or the 100% page layouts -- a reboot will occur when displaying that page with SkyView 5.0.

If you haven't upgraded yet, and think you might have done this, you can reconnect the flaps widget to C37 P22 (usually non-Rotax pin mappings) or to P37 P12 (Rotax pin mappings), then check your page layouts for any flaps widgets that shouldn't be there, and then delete them, and then go back into your pin mapping and re-delete / reassign your P22 or P12 back to nothing or whatever you'd changed it to.

Alternatively, you can use one of the files that we've provided at this page for folks that have run into this post-upgrade, but, note that these files will wipe out any widgets that were assigned to those pins if you'd changed them from flaps to anything else.
