When downloading the latest Map databases (1302, 1303) I noticed that the note said for 5.0 and higher, but in the next box it said for 5.0 only. The downloads and installation in my Skyview went fine, and I no longer got a "database out of date" message. AFTER those downloads I installed 5.1 successfully, but  again I am getting the Map data out of date message. For how I use Skyview I am not concerned except for the nuisance message. Can I just wait until April when the next Map data (for 5.1)can be downloaded?

Allan,

Use the menu to check what Av Database is now installed. I will bet it reverted to 1302, the Feb release.

If you loaded Skywiew 5.1 via "Method 1" using the ...duc file, that explains why. Av data 1302 was bundled into vers 5.1 cause it was the most current when 5.1 was released.

Av data 1303 was released after 5.1. So, next time you use the ...duc file check the currency of the contained Av and Ob data. You may need to obtain and load the Av and Ob data after, to get the newest.

So the packages are updated on the active date of new aviation data, so, unless you sit on a 5.1 package across a database cycle change, you shouldn't see that upon upgrade (the packages were just updated this evening for the Mar 7 db cycle that starts tomorrow). The data download page gets updated a few days prior to that, so that should may be the disconnect. But, if you were on 1302 today (Mar 6), you shouldn't have seen an expired notice. Did you happen to notice what cycle you were on?

Support,

I uploaded the new Av and Ob data for the Mar cycle today and my screen said expired Av data before I did it.

Upload went fine.
