How do.
I have just put the skyview 8.33 radio in my panel and it is great apart from 2 things, and any advice or similar issues would be good to hear about.
1. when the radio is on the volume of the skyview caution voice is halved and when you switch the radio off it goes back to normal. Given that you control the volume from the skyview is there a program glitch? I used the audio caution with my old becker radio with no issues and the wiring is the same just with a different plug.

2. Also Sometimes I have to switch the radio off and on to get the radio to pick up any frequencies it is like it needs a reboot to set the receiver up.

Anyway part from that the skyview is still the best thing on the market and I love it.!!
Any ideas or similar experiences?

I had a similar issue with my radio. the 8.33 is rare in the US, so I'd give them a call. I had to reset it occasionally like you, but then I started to have transition issues as well. Support was great! They helped troubleshoot it and shipped a replacement once it was determined it was the unit.

Good luck

On 1: How is SkyView's audio wired relative to the radio? It really needs to be connected through an intercom that has a facility to handle auxiliary audio (like our SV-INTERCOM-2S) or an audio panel. You really can't just mix the wires together.

On 2: When that happens, try opening up the squelch entirely by clicking the volume knob. Can you here signal on frequencies that have transmissions on them in that case? If so, you may just need to adjust the squelch setting in the setup menu. If not, we may need to explore this with you further.

Hi there,
The volume issue isa strange one as I have no intercom due to it being a single seater.
With the radio off the caution volume is fine but with the radio on the volume halves, the radio is fine and receives great but it is the dyne caution volume that changes
When the skyview switches off the radio switches off first then the skyview but the skyview cation volume is deafening as it shuts down.
The skyview audio has worked fine before the dynon com it seems like a function of the radio /skyview interlink.

What do you think also what about the fact I have to switch the radio on and off to make it work like N713TX?

Your old radio may have had a built-in intercom, while the Dynon COM radio does not. Simply tying the SkyView input into the headset in parallel is not a supported configuration.

If you want it to work "better" you can intall 33 ohms of resistance in series with the radio. This is also not a supported configuration, but it should reduce some of the negative effects you're seeing. But, it will still get louder w/o the radio on, and you may need to up your radio volume overall.

Ok maybe I am being dull but why would the volume change with the radio on or off ?
With the radio on it is linked to the Skyview so the volume is controlled by the radio unit ie quiet
Why the radio is off the volume is controlled by the Skyview and so is loud
My old radio was a Becker 4201 so had no intercom either has any one else had any issues?
Back to you wizards at dynon

You cannot hook multiple audio outputs together.

Imagine this: When SkyView is making noise, it wants the wire to be at 10V. However, the radio wants it to be quiet, at 0V.

So they fight one another and you get 5V.

This goes away when the radio is off since it has no power and thus doesn't fight the voltage. Nothing about SkyView's output has changed, it's just that all of it now goes to the headset instead of half of it into the radio.

This is what audio panels, intercoms, and mixers are for. They allow you to hook multiple sources together without interference.

The Becker radio likely had a different output that didn't "fight" as much, but this isn't very common. The situation you have now is the most common issue when connecting things together without a mixer.

What you need is one of the mixers like the ones VX aviation sells:
