Skyview failed in flight

I wonder if any other pilots have had this problem. Three of us who have Skyview Touch in out RV12s have had the system freeze and then go black in flight in airplanes with about 900 hours TT and less than an year since new. The units have been returned to Dynon which has done a good job of getting that fixed. But this problem makes the airplane not airworthy because all engine instruments and PFD instruments are gone. I would be surprised if only three of these failures have happened.

I can't find any mention of this on this BLOG.

We'd be interested to hear too. We know that at least one of the failures is a discrete component failure that we believe to be rare. That doesn't mean that there isn't something systemic going on with other customers, and we're already doing some investigation on the back-end here too across problem reports that have similar descriptions.

I had my display shut down about a week ago, first it went to vertical colored lines, then shut down. I rebooted it in flight, happened twice on one flight about an hour into it, then 15 min later, and has not happened since. My flights have mostly been short since then.

Hi Vince - A couple of things. Please do reach out directly to our support team at support at dynonavionics dot com or via 425-402-0433. We'd like to learn more about your situation. First, though, have you checked to see whether your display is affected by this service bulletin?

I haven't had an inflight failure, however, I have had one screen not boot a couple times.  After a half minute, I cycle the power and it boots just fine.  I also noticed today, at the very beginning of the boot process, there were a couple purple horizontal lines across the screen.  They went away once the Dynon splash screen came up.  I thought that was odd, but once again, everything functions normally and I'm not worried.  The MAC addresses don't apply for the board update.  These anomalies only happen on one of two screens.
