Out in West Texas there are instances where a NOTAM comes out that the GPS signal will be interrupted. I was wondering how the Skyview system would take this. Would it just give a big red X across the screen? I am hoping that there is a way to still be able to look at the sectional chart and manually move it around to be able to fly using dead reckoning and map features. If the map is unavailable I would hate to have to carry paper charts as a backup. I would also like to be able to load airport data into the Skyview COM like normal.

I am currently building my aircraft and not planning to put a VOR in the aircraft.

We actually recently improved this behavior, actually. If you lose GPS the aircraft's position will be unknown, but you'll still be able to use the map to navigate visually. I don't know that we've actually had a report where someone has experienced this in the real world, though.
