Skyview shows Red TFR when there is none.

Yesterday, 8/5/15, I took off around noon from my airport on Cape Cod, MA, and discovered that my Skyview showed that I was in an active (red) TFR (It was NOT active). This TFR should have been amber since it is scheduled to be active 8/7/15 at 2230Z. Any idea how this error occurred? Where does it originate for the Skyview?

Thanks,
Mitch

I and several others reported this problem a few weeks ago (a Presidential TFR showed as active when it was not scheduled to be active for 2 more days). I believe Dynon is looking at it (I sent them the diagnostic log file), but haven't heard anything since.

Mitch: We are still actively looking into this. Was it one of the VIP TFRs in Martha's Vineyard or Buzzard's Bay?

If you go flying again, we'd love to have you pull a diagnostic log to a USB drive within an hour of actually seeing the TFR mis-colored and upload it to http://dynon.aero/reportlog.

Two diagnostic files sent. Foreflight also incorrectly shows TFR as active.

Now THAT is interesting...perhaps the FAA's ADS-B broadcasts of TFR info is erroneous (or missing something like info on valid times, etc.)?

I also fly an RV-12 in Cape Cod MA, and saw the two Upcoming TFRs red instead of yellow. I downloaded the D1000 Diagnostic file and screenshots from my flights in the upcoming TFRs at Cape Cod.   Mitch757 asked me to send these to Dynon, but I will hold on to these until Dynon asks me for them.

I also observed this red shading with an upcoming TFR in the Philly area a week or so ago.  I quizzed atc to ensure I was not going to receive a phone call and they had no knowledge of an active TFR over the airport in question.  All's well the ends well but it was freaky and caused a stir in the cockpit. Added: Foreflight showed the TFRs as upcoming, not active.

RichDupee - we'd very much like to see your Diagnostic log and those screenshots. Can you send the log to www.dynon.aero/reportlog please? In the note area, put "case 203498". For the screenshots, please email them to support@dynonavionics.com, and in the subject line, please put the same "case 203498" to link everything up in our system. Thanks for the help!

Hi,  haven't seen much more on this topic but around Philly with the papal visit we have TFRs pending.  On a flight today (see attachment) I noted that the color of the pending displayed in SkyVision is the same as active (note in the screen capture the Washington DC TFR in the upper right) and clicking on it in Touch (which I find incredible useful.  Tangentially, I almost never pull out the iPad anymore....), I see that the info box notes that the TFR is active.  I was not intercepted (Yea!) and upon landing looked at FAA.GOV and this TFR (5/4119) is going active on 9/26.

Is the data being provided by ADSB incorrect or is this a config issue?

Thanks

We have a small bug in the upcoming/active color encoding which will be fixed in the next release.

Good to hear it is a bug that will be fixed. I was flying around my home base KRNM tonight and the TFR for this weekend's visit by POTUS was showing bright red everywhere. NOTAM won't be in effect until Saturday.

It would be nice to be able to adjust the opacity of the red. It blocks all of the other information on the MAP page that underly the TFR (like Class D and B boundaries).

I ran into the bug a few days ago near Eugene, OR. Here is a video capturing my interchange with Cascade Approach sorting out the TFR taken from a camera in my Carbon Cub.

It would be helpful to have a list of the "bugs" found in the current release of firmware.

I also had a case of false stadium TFRs this week. I'm surrounded by them!
