SkyView streaming air data

I'd like to confirm that streaming air data (D10A compatible) will be one of the serial port output options on the SV systems.

Our V-Speed ADS (Glareshield AoA indicator) has seen a sudden surge in popularity now that pilots find AoA a "must have".  It would be nice for the SV to drive it.

Also, what would be the plan for the companion serial input... will it be independently configurable or must it share a bit rate?

Thanks,
Vern Little

SkyView's serial outputs will be close to the D10A, but not identical. The D10A's output lacks some things that we wished we would have, such as OAT, version info, and had a funny way of doing pressure/baro altitudes and VSI, so we believe it's worth adding these things.

We should have the document on the exact format soon.

All of our serial ports must share an input and output bit rate because of our hardware, but the user can choose the output bit rate on SkyView for these kinds of outputs.

Thanks, I'd appreciate early access to your new format so that appropriate modifications/testing can be done to our device well in advance.

For example, if you are extending your sentence length, but leaving the current information in its present position, then we will not have to make any modifications to our firmware. We look for the CR/LF to define the start of the data block, then pick out airspeed and AoA information from that.

Also, since the input port must run at the 115k200 bit rate, is there something else in the works that could use it?

Thx, Vern

Note that we're talking about SkyView only. the D10/D100 series format isn't changing. Skyview's will likely be different, though. Note that SkyView's serial ports are baud rate selectable. Beyond that, more info coming soon.

One more thing... I'd like to request some additional features on this. Please send me a p.m. so I can share it privately.

Thanks, Vern

Hi Dynon,

Would be nice to add in the datastream as well pitch trim indication from the autopilot. That would enable to create an autotrim system.

Thanks, Jacques
