Skyview System Connections

I am in the process of installing all the cables the Skyview system in my RV-6A project. I have looked at the installation guide, but I do have a question. First, here is how I was planning to do the connections.

Display to SV-Net-3CC to SV-Net-SPL. The two ends of the SPL will go to the SV-ARINC-429 and SV-EMS-220

Display to SV-Net-SPL. One end of the SPL will go to SV-Net-Servo and then the Servo. The other end of the SPL will go to SV-Net-15CP and then to another SV-Net-SPL.

One end of the SPL will go to the SV-ADAHRS-200. The other end of the SPL will go to the cable connected to the servo (part of SV-Net-Servo), I am not planning to connect the longer cable of the SV-Net-Servo) since I think that it would be OK to just connect one end of the SPL cable. Will this work?

One more question. If I buy all my Skyview components (Display, servos, EMS, ARINC-429, ADAHRS, etc) now, would the warranty start when I receive them or can it start when my RV-6A kit is completed (estimated completion is Feb. 2012)?

It all will work BUT do not connect the red wire (Net power) to Servo.  Servo power (& ground) should be a 20awg wired to a separately fused circuit.  How you 'link' all the items into the network is up to you.

Warranty Periods

Dynon Avionics instruments are covered by a three-year factory limited warranty. Accessories, including temperature probes, pressure sensors, and flow sensors are covered by a one-year limited warranty.

Warranty coverage begins:

   The day the product is shipped to the end customer if purchased directly from Dynon Avionics.
   The date of retail sale if purchased through an authorized Dynon Avionics dealer.
   The date delivery is taken of an aircraft that comes factory-equipped with Dynon Avionics products already installed.

   Warranties are transferable to subsequent owners of Dynon Avionics products, subject to the above conditions. See the bottom of this page for an example of a typical Dynon Avionics Limited Warranty.

We used to do warranty from when the plane first flew, but we still get a call now and then from people that bought stuff from us 7 years ago and haven't yet flown, so we had to update our warranty to date of purchase, but when we did that we made the warranty longer.

SkyView Display's SkyView Network connectors are male pins. SV-NET-SPL "single end" is also male pins, so you'll need at least one SV-NET cable between the SkyView Display and the SV-NET-SPL. (We didn't design the SV-NET-SPL to connect directly to a SkyView Display.)

One end of the SPL will go to the SV-ADAHRS-200.  The other end of the SPL will go to the cable connected to the servo (part of SV-Net-Servo), I am not planning to connect the longer cable of the SV-Net-Servo) since I think that it would be OK to just connect one end of the SPL cable.  Will this work?

As jakej explained, the only wires from the servo that should be wired to the connector that will plug into the SkyView Network cable are:

• Blue
• Green
• White/Blue
• White/Green

You should use the 20 AWG Red and 20 AWG Black wires to power the servo(s) from a breaker - the servos CANNOT be powered by the SkyView Network. We have a nice diagram about all of this on Page 10-9 of the SkyView System Installation Guide (Rev I) (http://www.dynonavionics.com/downlo...em_Installation_Guide-Rev_I_Software_v3.2.pdf). The Yellow wire (Disengage / CWS Button) has to be routed to the panel or stick, depending on where you've installed the Servo Disconnect button.
