I just loaded the Skyview Software Package from the update page. It says it has an AV database update of 12/31/2020
When I loaded it into my plane and rebooted I show everything up to date except the
AVDATA 2020-12-31 - 2021-01-27: FAA (Expired) is in yellow

and I get the message at bootup that the databases are not up to date, Hit Map and Accept???

Do you have a Seattle Avionics data subscription by any chance?

Today I see this on ChartData Manager:

USB flash drive connected.
Update process starting.
Checking for new US Dynon SkyView ChartData.
There was an unexpected problem downladoading Seattle Avionics Airport Diagrams (descriptive data) FGData.
There was an unexpected problem downladoading IFR Approach Plates (descriptive data) PlatesData.
Update process complete.

And out of date Airport Diagrams and Approach Plates:

It wasn't just me that had this problem....there's another thread here about the same thing yesterday.

This could have been a database problem on their end, so I won't immediately call DataManager a POS (which it is)...

I agree with the POS-- It looks like something I wrote in BASIC programming in my first year of college.

I wonder if SA realizes how poorly this POS software reflects on them? They are continually pushing their ipad app as an alternative to foreflight/fltplango etc. I can’t imagine buying a piece of software from a company that can’t even get this relatively straightforward database downloader fixed and platform independent.

They must know that this thing has a very poor reputation. They've managed to improved the download speed somewhat, but it still downloads every approach plate and diagram *every time*, even when they haven't been updated (so it's just the exact same chart). It's got a poorly designed interface that complies with NO standard I can figure out. Ever wonder why *every* Windows program you use has a similar interface, so it's always easy to find File, Edit, View,...,Help menus? *Because the designers adhered to the published standards*. Throw in unreliability like this problem going on now (but...get this...only one *one* of my computers, not the other one...now it's also showing the error for "No subscription for email or password" grrrrrr) and the end result is just piss-poor.

I've said it before...I *love* the data, but the application absolutely SUCKS.

Most of this thread is about the optional sectional/plates data from Seattle Avionics. What you’re describing is the aviation/obstacle data from DYNON. You saw an expired message because it would appear you installed it on 1/27 -the date it expired. Since you now should have 15.4.7 installed, just download the latest aviation data w/o the Skyview software and you should be current.
