Skyview USB Port

Guys - yesterday, I was talking to one of my buddies who has asked a question I couldn't answer - he wanted to know if the SV update USB port he had brought out to the instrument panel could be used to charge an iPad. I didn't think so, but was not sure. ????

SkyView's USB port is a standard USB port. So anything that can charge off USB can charge off it. I'm not an expert on the iPad, but my understanding is that it charges very, very slowly from USB, and doesn't charge at all if it is on, since the battery inside is huge compared to what USB can put out. Thanks! That's pretty much what I thought. My concern was damaging the port or doing a mischief to the SV display.
