Hello
As I'm not expert in english langage, I'd like to get more détails on following fonctionality:
Returning to the Last Viewed Chart
"
o When you are within 300 feet AGL of at an airport with an available diagram, that airport diagram is displayed instead of the most recently viewed chart."
[/b/
I did some test and I don't know How it works.
Thanks in advance

This will only work if you are at an airport that has a Aerodrome diagram that is georeferenced. Not every airport has this, so you may be at a place that doesn't. What airport did you try this at?

Hi
Yes I know that.
My aérodrome is LFBN and diagram is georeferenced, because I saw my plane moving on chart and at right place.
I also tried at LFFK. Once again I saw my plane moving on chart.
So is anybody could explain in détail to me how it works?

So it doesn't happen COMPLETELY automatically. You do need to press and hold the map knob for a second, which would normally flip/flop you between the most recently viewed chart and the map. If you're near the ground and over the georeferenced area, though, it'll flip you from the map to the airport diagram for the airport you're at.

Mine doesn't - or at least I can't get it to pop the chart.  I couldn't get it to pop the chart on 7.0 and I was out flying on Saturday after loading 7.1, and it still wouldn't pop.

I've flown approaches just to test this feature, and re-read the Operator's Handbook several times, but No Joy.

It will not do this in flight. In flight, it toggles between your last manually chosen plate, and the map. We can't choose in flight since there can be many, many approaches that overlay the same area so we'd have no idea which one to use. It will flip-flop once you chose one.

If you are:

1) On the ground
2) At an airport with a georeferenced airport diagram
3) In the bounds of that diagram

Then pressing the MAP knob will bring up the airport diagram.

Are you getting a "no chart selected" error, or nothing at all?

I guess what I'm looking for is the airport diagram without numerous key pushes at a semi-critical portion of flight (landing, rollout, exiting the active, etc.)

I don't need or want the multi approach plates.  Just the airport diagram.  I thought THAT is what was going to pop within 300 ft of the ground.

Well, this should work then, assuming you are on the ground at an airport we know about. Does it just work sitting on the ground, not moving?

This is not an "arm" thing. You don't "arm" it and it pops. You must request it when you are already on the ground.

Thanks, that's clear, but some moving map sofware work on different way. The most convenient way is to get a chart pop up automaticly approching airfield destination. Ipad moving map Sofware have such clever fonctionality.

Never the less many thanks for V 7.1, and I'm quite sure you are thinging about such fonctionality
Let see

So the issue is that at LFBN, there is no Aerodrome chart. There is only a "visual landing" chart. Our software only chooses from "Airport Diagram" or "Aerodrome" when trying to find a chart for you. LFFK has the same issue.

We'll look into this and see if we can make it better in a future software release.

OK - I'm confused.  Page 7-46 of the Users Manual says "When you are within 300 ft AGL of an airport with an available diagram, that airport diagram is displayed..."

I can select the airport diagram satisfactorily at any time - in flight or on the ground.  I guess I could select it on approach, but I would rather have the map displayed for Traffic reasons.

Here's the situation:  I start up and taxi out (especially at an unfamiliar airport.) I select the airport diagram and Follow and I can follow my progress taxiing.  No problem.  I can also review the airport diagram during the Descent and Approach phase of flight.  But I find getting to the chart to be convoluted and arduous.  I must select Back - Map - Info - then toggle to Chart - then scroll down to Airport Diagram - then Select that option.  I then hit Follow (may have been changed in 7.1.)

What's not so easy is landing - I land, exit the active runway, and at a larger airport - contact Ground - and then have to daisy-chain to the airport diagram for taxi guidance.

I'd like a single button option on the bottom that says Chart - I can then get my chart called up quickly.

I thought the 300 ft AGL pop up was the solution to this but it doesn't seem to work.

Page 7-48 (in the 7.1 manual) says:

Returning to the Last Viewed Chart
To quickly return to the last chart that was viewed:

With the normal map page displayed, press (click) and hold the joystick knob for 1/2 second.

When you are within 300 feet AGL of at an airport with an available diagram, that airport diagram is displayed instead of the most recently viewed chart.

You still need to press the MAP joystick knob for 1/2 second. The 300 foot is a sub-reference to pressing the knob, not a statement that it will happen anytime you are close to the ground.

OK about that, but flip/flop to get the last charts viewed and the map doesn't work anymore.
In that case doesn't matter if it's "visual landing" or "airport diagramm" does you?
