I have an SL30 connected to an MD200-306/307. I believe it is also possible to connect the output from the SL30 directly to the D10A? If this is correct, please could someone explain eaxactly how I take the output from the SL30 (which Pin out connection(s)) to connect to the Pin 22 input on the Dynon? It seems to indicate from the D10A installation that there is only ONE wire output from the SL30 which provides all the VOR/ILS info to the Dynon?  If this is so, which one???   :-?
Much appreciate any help here. Thanks.

Use the same pins as shown on the HS34 connection diagram to the SL30 in the manual. Just instead of connecting to the HS34, connect it to the serial port of the D10A.

Easy peasy....

OK - easy peasy eh ? I've got the D10A to SL30 connection page (appendix 7-15) and Wiring Overview (page 2-2) and it looks to me as though:

Pin 4 (SL30) to Pin 10 [orange] (D10A)
Pin 5 (SL30) to Pin 22 [yellow] (D10A)

and that's it ! ? Obviously the SL30 and D10A are individually grounded anyway. Could you just confirm this is correct, please? And that I can also keep the set up with the data going to the Autopilot ?
I also need to insert a switch so I can use the 9 pin D-sub connector with laptop for updates?

Thanks again.

Technically, the EFIS-D10A doesn't send anything back to the SL30. So you can omit the pin 4/10 wire entirely. If you have the HS34, it can pass along frequencies that are blasted out by Garmin handheld GPSes, but this won't apply to your configuration.

Other than that, your wire pairs are correct. Make sure to read the EFIS-D10A installation manual section about GPS/SL30 connections. And make sure on the SL30's software setup that you set the "Indicator Head Type" to "NONE".

If he has an analog CDI hooked to the SL-30, it will always obey that as the course setting, so us sending it a course is futile.

Also, your "indicator head type" should be left alone in this particular install, not set to "none." You need "none" when the Dynon is the only CDI/HSI.

Thanks Guys - all now wired up OK, I believe.   :) Will have to wait a while till I can verify it all. I've just got the panel here at home - the aircraft is at the airfield, an  hour away....
