Splicing OAT probe wires

I need to relocate my OAT probe. I originally installed it in a fresh air scoop on the fuselage side but it reads as much as 15degF high because it is being warmed from the back side.

Since the wires are already run and I snapped on that little black connector at the ADHARS end, can I cut and extend the wires? Will the added resistance throw off the temperature reading?

I did just this thing, Adam. Cut and spliced to move under the wing.  Works perfectly.

You can extend them, no problem there.

Sorry, I just realized that question is answered in the installation manual. I should have looked there first!
