Please advise when you start touch upgrades to existing SV10 systems and how we go about getting our equipment upgraded.

Thanks,
Bill

FYI on process and status-
The expected process is that you mail us your current screen, we upgrade it to a touch screen, and you get back a screen that drops right in with all your settings. We will likely not be able to send you a touch screen before you send us back your non-touch screen, partially because we do want to make sure all your settings, databases, etc, are copied over.
Full thread- #26 is copied above.

Yes, I remember reading most of that thread when I first learned of touch and, yes, I understand you will need mine back for the upgrading.

I'm heading out of the country in a few days and wanted to send in my SV10 for upgrading to touch. This is why I asked to advise on WHEN you START doing the upgrades and the procedure for sending in a display. By chance has that process started? If it has, can I send mine your way? If I can, how would you like it sent (via RMA)?

We haven't started upgrades and don't yet have a date. We don't quite have the excess production capacity yet. I hope to have a more substantial update soon. Definitely make sure you're on our mailing list (newsletter.dynonavionics.com) and/or are getting Preflight Brief updates (http://preflight.dynonavionics.com/, then sign up for email notifications on new posts on the right side).

Almost ready with more information. It's going to be a little while until we're actually doing upgrades though (I know, it's longer than we would've liked too).

Hopefully, Dynon will "schedule" the Touch Screen conversion process so as to minimize our airplanes' downtime.  It would be nice to know exactly when we should send in our old screen and exactly when we can expect to get it back.  I'm lovin' my Skyview as is, but I am hoping that the Touch Screen will reduce my need to have to constantly fiddle with that #%$&@# multi-function knob in the lower right corner!   :D

ps -- I realize that the new Knob and AP controller modules  would help, but I am hopeful that the Touch Screen conversion will prove satisfactory in lieu of adding the two extra control modules.

OK, here's that information we've been promising as well as a form to get on our list of people to contact once we're ready: http://www.thenewskyview.com/touchtradein

Dynon is not yet doing trade-ins from SV-D1000 to SV-D1000T (SkyView Touch). Even if we were, we would not be able to perform this anywhere but our factory in Woodinville, Washington. Sorry!

Please read the new information we posted, and sign up on the list.

Love the policy and approach to doing the upgrades! The business side seems to be up to the awesome hardware side of the company.

So I just want to give you guys that haven't seen the touch yet some input. I stopped by the Dynon booth at the Arlington fly-in yesterday and Adam took me through the paces of the new touch screens... WOW it's amazing. Can't wait to get the upgrade done! It's so fast and intuitive to use. Especially the map page is where it really shined for me.

Oh, THANKS Andy!
I already have a child waiting for Christmas lack of patience and you are simply making it worse :)

All kidding aside, it is nice to hear Dynon got it right but then again, they are Dynon so I've come to expect it.
