Stratux European Edition finally works with Dynon Skyview (using "FLARM Traffic" via serial connection)

A couple of folks (including myself) spent quite some time to develop the Stratux European Edition which has all the features of the standard Stratux version but in addition has an OGN receiver functionality to receive several traffic protocols on the 868Mhz frequency band, comparable to what the OpenGliderNetwork does. This can be disabled in favor of 978MHz UAT for use in the US. More details here:

https://github.com/b3nn0/stratux/blob/master/README.md

The connection to SkyView has to be through an unused SkyView serial port which has to be configured to "FLARM Traffic" protocol, see attached screenshot (the GDL90 protocol is not supported by Dynon as we all know). Baudrate has to be set accordingly (also in Stratux), please note that Stratux does not come with a serial port, this has to be added and configured in addition, see here:

https://github.com/b3nn0/stratux/wiki/Stratux-Serial-output-for-EFIS's-that-support-GDL90-or-Flarm-NMEA-over-serial

Please note as well that the Stratux European Edition (in addition to ADS-B, UAT and OGN) also displays an estimation of Mode C/S target distance by signal strength.

All in all this is a true DIY project with no guarantee that it works, you have to really know what you are doing, both putting together the hardware pieces as well as configuring the software to your needs. Furthermore connecting Stratux to SkyView is certainly only recommended if you have an avionics expert at hand.

Best,

Is there a step by step guide on how to build the EU edition of Stratux? I've looked at the links above and have to admit that I'm confused as what components would need to be used for the European edition.
