Survey grid waypoints?

I am receiving a new aircraft (pipistrel virus) with two dynon 10" touch displays in December. This aircraft will be used in Canada and for Lidar/mapping missions. There is a regulation in canada which allows experimental aircraft to be used for aerial work such as surveying/data capturing. My question is this, is there any current way to create a grid of waypoints easily without having to enter every single waypoint manually? Some flights may have up to 100 waypoints. It would be really cool if I could create a polygon within dynon and tell it to do a survey grid within the polygon points. For my mapping that I do with UAV's we use a program called mission planner that has a survey feature and can automatically create a survey grid for the plane to fly. By entering information such as camera sensor, focal length, altitude, airspeed, side overlap, it automatically plots the lines needed for the autopilot. I would pay to have this functionality on my dynon skyview! Is this possible to implement or would it be possible to create these survey missions with the mission planner app and have the dynon screen able to read the waypoint file? Is this something dynon can work to implement in future update? Mission planner saves the waypoint files as a txt file format. Thanks for the already incredible avionics package you offer!

SkyView supports flight plans in .GPX format, so if you have a tool that creates lists of waypoints, we can likely import those and then fly them. We can also hook to ForeFlight and other tablet applications via WiFi and get flight plans from those tools, so if you can get your flight plans into an app, you can also likely pass it over.

As for doing it inside SkyView, that's a pretty specialized task, but we're always listening to new ideas.
